Cosmetic work — new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, paint — generally doesn't. Anything structural, any change to the building's footprint, most decks and carports, and work affecting a character or heritage-listed property generally does. Yes. In Queensland, building work valued over $3,300 must be carried out by a QBCC-licensed contractor, and work over that threshold generally requires a written contract. Usually, yes. Single-room work almost always. For kitchens we can stage the work so you keep a functioning temporary setup, and for bathrooms we plan around access to another. We seal work areas, manage dust, and clean the site daily. For a full-home renovation, moving out is often faster and cheaper overall — we'll tell you honestly which applies.
